Week 6

Week 6 is where I tried to start and get everything together to finish up one of my projects. Project I’m in the midst of finishing is the Tintustry Co. At this point in my internships that I am doing I have decided that I will start working on them separately so I can get my full attention to the creative process of each website Earlier in all three of my projects I have been doing all three simultaneously at the same time, but now it’s looking more like it’s time to separate and start giving more attention to each project that is as needed.

Week 7

Again I’ve come to a crossroads where I’m having a hard time contacting the owner of the company to finish completing his website. Since that is the case I have decided to contact the other companies and the nonprofit and just continue doing what I have been doing where I’m working on all three at the same time. I am keeping in mind as to priorities of each project and what I’m doing at the time as to what’s important. The nonprofit has talked and asked about adding a donation button where we can hook up their venmo account or paypal. I have not heard a confirmation whether or not that’s what they want for sure I am working on some javascript to make that happen but ultimately if that is the case we need to come back to the drawing board as far as our internship agreement. This is a lot of information and a lot to take in. Think I’m having the hardest time with just trying to keep everything separated. Saying that I’m all discombobulated but I am finding that making sure that best practices are in place so that way there’s no major disruptions to the creation of these websites. Hopefully by next week I’ll have more of an understanding as to where I’m going with all three of these. I think I have a very good base for everything I just need a little bit more communication with the owners just to make sure we have everything set in place before I go on and purchase and start their personalized domain. I’m not sure how everybody else in my class is doing it but I kind of have made an executive decision that I will do all of everything on my hosting site to try and practice everything and when everything is said and done is when I will put it on their very own personalized domain as so that way they can get a full year at least to go along with the agreement that we have.

  1. I must say that it was a great idea to separate your projects. It’s unfortunate that you had to blend them together again but I do hope that for the time you had them separated you were able to be productive and step back for a minute and look at your progress. I also wish you luck with communicating with your client(s). I have dealt with similar situations and I can say that it is quite frustrating. I also hope you are able to build the donation button easily enough if your client decides they want one.
