Week 8

This past week has been Very productive! I was able to contact two of my clients and discuss with them where I’m at and where they are at as far as input that they Have towards the webpages. Also I have started creating all of the backgrounds and putting everything together piece by piece. The first website that I worked on was Mad Viking Beard Club of Wisconsin, the non-profit. I had the client stop over and we went through a bunch of stuff that really pushed this project in high gear. As of right now he is very happy with how the web page looks and also has asked if there is a possibility of creating an ecommerce page that can go along with it. At that point I did explain to him the parameters that we had discussed in the beginning of the project as to what he wanted done and that if anything extra was to be done that we would have to go back and start with the agreement and put it in there so everything stays exactly where it needs to be and we can always look back then in case if we get lost. As of now he says just keep it as it is, but did as if after everything is said and done if he can change his mind later of course I said You. My next is to jump towards Tintustry Co. With that one I have a lot of the bones of the Pages completed button a lot of the design works will need to be done which I’m planning to get on the phone. Far as we’re Mad Viking Beard Club of Wisconsin, Here is my went to the thing for you to check it out if you would like. Just click the image below.

Week 6-7

Week 6

Week 6 is where I tried to start and get everything together to finish up one of my projects. Project I’m in the midst of finishing is the Tintustry Co. At this point in my internships that I am doing I have decided that I will start working on them separately so I can get my full attention to the creative process of each website Earlier in all three of my projects I have been doing all three simultaneously at the same time, but now it’s looking more like it’s time to separate and start giving more attention to each project that is as needed.

Week 7

Again I’ve come to a crossroads where I’m having a hard time contacting the owner of the company to finish completing his website. Since that is the case I have decided to contact the other companies and the nonprofit and just continue doing what I have been doing where I’m working on all three at the same time. I am keeping in mind as to priorities of each project and what I’m doing at the time as to what’s important. The nonprofit has talked and asked about adding a donation button where we can hook up their venmo account or paypal. I have not heard a confirmation whether or not that’s what they want for sure I am working on some javascript to make that happen but ultimately if that is the case we need to come back to the drawing board as far as our internship agreement. This is a lot of information and a lot to take in. Think I’m having the hardest time with just trying to keep everything separated. Saying that I’m all discombobulated but I am finding that making sure that best practices are in place so that way there’s no major disruptions to the creation of these websites. Hopefully by next week I’ll have more of an understanding as to where I’m going with all three of these. I think I have a very good base for everything I just need a little bit more communication with the owners just to make sure we have everything set in place before I go on and purchase and start their personalized domain. I’m not sure how everybody else in my class is doing it but I kind of have made an executive decision that I will do all of everything on my hosting site to try and practice everything and when everything is said and done is when I will put it on their very own personalized domain as so that way they can get a full year at least to go along with the agreement that we have.

Week 5

I have been communicating back and forth between the clients that I am doing my internships on. Currently we’re in the midst of getting all the photos and media that they would like to have on their web pages. I think the layout that they all have decided on works good for every single company. The typography that they’re looking at right now is kind of what’s holding things up. Well I guess not really holding things up but just causing a little bit more time than I thought that it would have at for this type of part of the internship. Going through all these things and actually doing it yourself instead of just hearing about it has really shown me a little bit, and I say a little bit because it is only a little bit of what it takes to design a web page and a website for a company or a client.

Week 4

Colors, Fonts, Graphics& Photos!!

Since I have gotten back all my surveys, I have since started creating the wire frame and navigation which still working progress. All three projects the client is looking at a few possibilities as to how they exactly would like everything laid out. I have started by trying to help each one maybe look at it more in a visual sense as to me taking the information that they’ve given me so far and starting some small templates as to what they might be interested in kind of making a guesstimated guess and having them review it to see if this could be a possibility for them. The pictures I have shown are the templates that I have created for each project. It feels kinda like I’m starting from behind and working my way back, but at this point I’m not sure a better way to do it to try to nudge my clients into making a decision as to what they would like created.

Along with all this I have created some javascript and P H P files for Mad Viking Beard Club and Tintustry. I’m in the process right now of doing the same for the car dr mechanic shop. I figured all of these projects are going to need some sort of communication donation, booking appointments etc.

WordPress problems/ Internship communication

WordPress Issue

Pic 1

The past couple weeks I have pulled together in this post readers. the simple fact And the reasoning is because I was having some major issues with my wordpress. I started noticing that it was hard to read the comments section and I’m sure you guys realize this too when looking at my previous post. So then I took time that I really didn’t have LOL to start delving into my wordpress coding to see what could possibly be wrong. As you can see in the pic 1 bebelow I went into the inspection developer part of chrome and looked at the coding itself and found the ID to be able to go to additional CSS, as you can see in pic 2, And fix the font size. For some reason the font size for that whole section was set for 1PX. I’m not sure why but it was only when I used elementor for this page. When I deleted Elementor the size of the words were just fine.

Internship Issues

As far as for my internships go, communication has been small between the supervisors & myself. Just due to the fact of business of the season and the warm weather. There hasn’t been major issues as far as what I know what to do next and where I’m going from here. I have finally gotten all of my survey’s back from each client. I have constructed The site outline and site map for each project. What I find that helps me so far going through this internship is that as long as I stay focused and with having three projects seems like a lot but I do them in an order right away. Basically when I start to work on one of the projects for part of my project plan, I make sure to finish for the other two as well. I honestly think that’s the only way I’m staying afloat at this moment. At this point I am going to be starting my wire frame for each project and should have that completed by the end of this week to middle of next week. I would show the work that I have done on here, but due to the business’s That’s just bad form.

Weekly blog

Week 1

Normally the first week in a semester I like to get my scheduling and time management figured out. To be totally transparent still working on that LOL. In this first week though I have been able to find the three internships, Car Doctor L L C, Mad Viking Beard Club, & Lastly Tintustry Co.
So far my clients and I have been able to set up a good communication standard. I have also handed out to all three clients a client survey which I am still waiting to get back from each of them just to kind of get a rough idea as to what they are looking for before I go into any kind of creative brief.

Projects

The project I’m working on is for my mobile and web internships class. The work that is to be done for this class is to create this blog for you readers to read about my weekly updates and challenges that come with internships and/or projects that we find That will fill up our 184 that is required for our internships/projects.
So folks in the first week of the semester I was able to find myself three internship projects that I feel will give me the required amount of hours I need to fulfill to pass my mobile and web internship course. The first project I found is calledTintustry Co. This company is ran by a young gentleman that’s just starting out and trying to monetize his skills at installing car window tint and car audio.

Tintustry

The second project I found is a car mechanics shop in Beaverdam WI area. This gentleman has been in business for a couple years and is now looking to possibly reach a broader audience.

lastly is a non profit that I found in the area called Mad Viking Beard Club of Wisconsin. These folks tend and try to run charities all around the Wisconsin area to help the less fortune.
